Polyethylene, or PE for short, is the most widely used thermoplastic in our society and an essential part of modern life.
Polymers and biopolymers have become indispensable in a wide range of industrial applications. Through continuous research and development, their properties are constantly being improved and optimized to meet the needs of different industries.
Polymers – from automotive to dentistry
The polymer industry – both polymers produced synthetically from crude oil and natural gas (plastics) and biopolymers made from renewable raw materials – is not only one of the most innovative sectors in the world, it also offers a broad and constantly challenging range of applications for our solid-liquid separation products and system solutions. From a few micrometers to a few millimeters, our machines continuously and efficiently separate plastics from aqueous or organic suspensions.
If necessary, we wash off residual solutions and feed the plastics to one of our thermal drying units. Subsequent control screening or sampling from the continuous process are also part of our portfolio. Polyamides (PA), Polycarbonates (PC), Polyether sulfones (PES), Polymethyl methacrylates (PMMA), Polyolefins (HDPE), (UHMWPE), Polyoxymethylenes (POM), Polystyrenes (PS, EPS), Polyvinyl alcohols (PVA), polyvinyl butyrals (PVB), polyvinyl chlorides (PVC), styrene copolymers (ABS, SAN), are some of the synthetic polymers that we successfully process on our machines and systems.
In the last decade, polymers based on renewable resources have been increasingly added. These include polylactic acid (PLA), cellulose acetate (CA) and polyhydroxybutyric acid (PHB). We see the rapidly growing demand for high-quality materials for 3D printers as a further growth factor for high-quality innovative polymers.
