The desire for ever lower dirt loads in waste water for the sustainable protection of our environment (ZLD – Zero Liquid Discharge) and the industry’s demand for the highest possible efficiency of production plants make the decanter one of the most frequently used machines.
Whether the smallest or largest throughput rates, lowest or highest temperatures, gas-tight design, chemical resistance or explosion protection – we offer your solution.
Operational safety under all operating conditions, including oil circulation lubrication of all bearings including gearbox and screw bearings, is a top priority for SIEBTECHNIK TEMA Decanter centrifuges – solid bowl.
The low maintenance requirements as well as individual adaptations and design variants make our decanters a unique separation device for almost all separation processes. These include pure separation processes (clarification and dewatering of solids), thickening (compacting) and classification, both in open and gas-tight processes.
Decanter centrifuges – solid bowls are used to separate very fine solids from specifically lighter liquids. The solids sediment within the liquid and are therefore not retained by a sieve element. The solids deposited in the solid bowl are conveyed to the small diameter with a screw and discharged there. The clarified liquid is discharged via an adjustable weir at the cylindrical end of the bowl.
SIEBTECHNIK TEMA Decanter centrifuges – solid bowl operate according to the so-called counter-current principle. This means that the suspension to be separated is fed approximately in the middle of the bowl, the sedimented solids are conveyed by the screw rotating at a differential speed to the bowl in the direction of the small diameter, while the clarified liquid overflows at the opposite end of the bowl.
The height of the liquid level in the bowl and therefore the ratio between the clarifying and drying sections of the bowl can be adjusted. This enables optimum adaptation to the respective separation task.
The differential speed between the screw and drum is realized by a high-performance gearbox. The centrifuge is driven by V-belts as standard, whereby the centrifuge is equipped with a single drive (fixed gearbox input shaft) or double drive (driven gearbox input shaft) depending on the speed combination.
We build all decanters with bowl inclinations between 6° and 15°, with single or double drive, with hydraulic or frequency converter drive, as two-phase decanters, with various centrate or solids discharge variants.
A double-conical version for separate wash water drainage is also available.
Inerting our machines and systems can be necessary for a variety of reasons. In many industrial processes, it is necessary for safety reasons to reliably prevent the formation of an explosive atmosphere caused by dust or gases (ATEX).
In addition, it may be necessary to seal and blanket product spaces with inert gas, such as nitrogen (N₂) or carbon dioxide (CO₂), to prevent oxidation and maintain product quality.
Take advantage of the decades of cross-industry experience of SIEBTECHNIK specialists in sealing and inerting the process chambers of your centrifuges.
We are happy to work with our customers to develop an inerting concept for the integration of our machines into existing or planned systems.
The name SIEBTECHNIK TEMA is inseparably connected with dewatering tasks under the highest hygienic requirements. The separation of breadcrumbs from frying oil at temperatures of approx. 200°C with the SHORTBOWL decanter centrifuge, the centrifugation of lactose crystals for the production of baby food with the SHORTBOWL decanter centrifuge and the CONTURBEX screen scroll centrifuge or the production of high-purity inorganic salts with our CONTURBEX and pusher centrifuges are just a few examples. Design features include technical separation of the drive and process areas of the centrifuge, advanced sealing systems that are easy to clean by CIP.
To optimize centrifuges for hygienic applications or in areas where CIP must prevent cross-contamination, we use riboflavin tests to verify and optimize cleaning results.
In-house developed and USDA-certified CIP nozzles, in-house developed hygienic fittings, special hygienic surfaces or our sophisticated USDA-compliant sealing technology make many dewatering tasks possible with our centrifuges.
We offer energy optimization, machine monitoring, on-site maintenance & repair service, OEM spare parts, root cause analysis, maintenance & repair kits, inventory analysis, machine history management, personalized technical consulting, training & workshops, 24-hour service, retrofits & upgrades, and used & bridge machines.

Polyethylene, or PE for short, is the most widely used thermoplastic in our society and an essential part of modern life.
Soda ash is an indispensable part of our daily lives. From cleaning and manufacturing to environmental technology, soda ash is a versatile helper with a wide range of practical applications.
Sodium hydrogen carbonate (NaHCO₃) is a fine, white, crystalline powder that is often used as a leavening agent. Due to the fineness of the crystals, our SHS pusher centrifuge is particularly suitable for the post-dehydration of baking soda.
Polyvinyl Chloride is a thermoplastic polymer also known as PVC. This versatile material is one of today's most important plastics, internationally recognized and proven in the market.
Boric acid is an inorganic acid. It is often used as an antiseptic, insecticide, flame retardant, neutron absorber or as a precursor for other chemical compounds.
