Bulk material samples are gently dried in our dryer so that at the end of the drying process a dry, non-caked, free-flowing sample is available. This sample can be used for particle size analysis or further grinding to analytical fineness.
The drying process
The TR500 Sample Dryers are used to dry moist bulk materials in batches. The drying process is based on contact drying of a tumbling heating plate, which permanently circulates the bulk material sample. In conjunction with an infrared heater, samples can be reliably dried in a very short time.
Operating behavior & mechanical features
The moist bulk material is dried via a heating plate, which is excited in a tumbling motion by an unbalance motor. Due to the arrangement of the unbalance motor, the material is constantly circulated during the entire drying process and thus repeatedly offered to the hot heating plate. Heat is supplied to the heating plate via thermal oil which is heated by a temperature control unit with a heating range between 50°C and 180°C.
The material to be dried is fed into the center of the vibrating and heated dryer and distributed on the heating plate. The dryer is emptied by changing the direction of rotation of the unbalance drive and the associated change in vibration, which allows the dried bulk material to be discharged.
