Due to the different arrangements and designs of the drive for the slotted vessel, this sampler can be adapted to many installation conditions and allows sampling from material flows of a few kilograms per hour up to 5-digit tonnages per hour.

Operating behavior & mechanical features

The Slotted-vessel sampler, also known as a spoon sampler, is used for sampling materials at the belt head or at the belt transfer point. This sampling principle is based on a slotted vessel with a defined inlet gap, perpendicular to the incoming material flow, which captures the entire thickness of the material flow at a constant speed.

The tray sampler travels through the product flow from the waiting position, usually with the bottom flap open, and closes it when it reaches the reverse position. With the bottom flap closed, the sampler now moves back through the product flow at a constant speed and takes the representative sample.

When the usually conical container reaches the waiting position, the bottom flap is opened via stops and a sophisticated lever system and the slotted container is emptied.

The waiting position of the sampler is always outside the flow of material, so that the sharpening vessel neither disturbs the material flow nor is exposed to permanent wear.
